Applied physical sciences receives grant to promote an entrepreneurial mindset in undergraduates.

The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill has announced a transformational gift to support constructing a sports medicine complex that will enable further advances in its world-leading traumatic brain injury research.

But for the past 30 years, Honors Carolina has made that distance seem smaller by connecting Carolina’s best and brightest students to the international academic community.

A family legacy of UNC alumni and a passion for lifelong learning continue to inspire Ann Rankin Cowan (psychology ’75) to give back to Carolina. Cowan is an avid supporter of the arts and sciences and committed to passing down that tradition.

“I want to take away any number of fears that may prevent a student — who grew up like me — from studying abroad,” explained Michael-Bryant Hicks ’96.

Joanne Mills Garrett and husband, Peter Garrett, created an endowment to fund the producing artistic director position for PlayMakers Repertory Company.

A transformational $25 million bequest to the UNC College of Arts and Sciences ensures a bright future for graduate students. The gift from an anonymous donor will enable the College to compete for the most promising graduate students for generations to come.
